The April Fool!

Today is my birthday. I am 37 years old. How in the world did that happen? Sometimes I still feel like a child trapped in an adult's life, and other times I feel like the dinosour that I am.

Twenty years ago today I had a "new to me" used Buick waiting in the driveway courtesy of my parents. I skipped out of school to take my driver's license test and passed. Oh what an exciting day that was! The lovely Buick was a cool ride until it and was totalled less than three months later, but that's a whole 'nuther story.

I can still remember what I was wearing on my 17th birthday, including the huge hideous pink sunglasses. And, to top off the look, I was sporting the big 80's New Jersey hair do held in place by a gallon of Stiff Stuff hair spray (i.e. hair glue). Rock Me Amadeus was the number one song on the charts, remember that gem? I sure wish I had a picture to share... or maybe I'm glad that I don't.

Life is a little different today.

I slept in this morning until 9:00 when I was awakened by two beautiful children, complete with birthday hats and horns, who were bearing gifts. They gave me a 2 gig compact flash card! Next we went downstairs so Dylan could show me a picture he drew on the computer. To my delight I saw a new Viewsonic 19 inch LCD monitor and an external hard drive to store my many megabytes of photos. My dear husband did good this year. I even received beautiful red roses from him. What a lucky, lucky girl I am. :)

Today is a good day to count my blessings. I may not be so young anymore, but youth isn't everything. Life is good.

So why the hiatus in photo blogging? Ah, yes. Sad, sad, news. My dear friend Rebel XT and his partner in crime the 85mm 1.8 lens took a fall. They are recovering at the Canon Hospital in Jamesburg, NJ. We are hoping for a full and speedy recovery, but thus far there is no news. Is no news good news? I really hope this is the case. I will know more next week. Please keep the duo in your thoughts and prayers. ;)

Since I don't have any new images to share, I will share some of my favorite images from March.

This is my favorite.

This shot of Katie is a technical nightmare, but I love the capture.

Doesn't Issie look regal?

With those rosy cheeks, there is no doubt that McDylan is McIrish.
